Christina Angell

Christina Angell - Owner

Christina Angell has a long history with food, nutrition and sustainability. She started cooking at a young age with her mother and her passion for food continued into her adult years. She received a Bachelors degree in Nutrition from Montana State University in 2006 which led her to a job at the Bozeman Community Food Co-op. While managing at the Co-op, she decided to go back to MSU for a Masters degree in Sustainable Food Systems (completed in May 2012). This degree, along with her experience at the Co-op and some volunteer work on a local farm, led her and a couple of farmers to begin Root Cellar Foods in August 2014. She is currently the sole owner of Root Cellar Foods. On her “down time” she enjoys being outside and cooking with her husband, son, and two dogs, Bruno and Henry.

Lauren Lenz - Marketing Coordinator

Lauren originally hails from New Hampshire, where she grew up climbing mountains, picking black raspberries, and jumping into clear swimming holes. In 2015 she moved to Montana, connected with Christina, and began working full-time on the production floor at Root Cellar. She eventually managed production until leaving to pursue her dreams of becoming a flower farmer. Lauren now owns and operates Calliope Flowers, a small cut-flower farm in Bozeman, and stays connected to the local food community through her work with Root Cellar. In her free time she enjoys baking, biking up mountains, skiing down them, and throwing endless river rocks for her black dog, Nero.
