Root Cellar Foods is an online ordering, pick up and home delivery service. Customers can fulfill their local food grocery needs with a one stop shop, ordering from 70+ Montana growers, ranchers and producers online. All you need to do is sign up and pick the correct pickup or home delivery option, then start shopping and confirm your order!

Start shopping every Thursday at 5pm through Monday 11am.
Confirm your order early to ensure you receive the items you’d like (many local products have limited availability each week or availability is cut off early Monday mornings so growers can begin their weekly harvest). You can always add more items to your cart during the order window once your order is confirmed.

If you forget to pick up your order at Ale Works or the Root Cellar Foods warehouse on Thursday, you can pick your order up on Friday at our warehouse in Belgrade. Please call our office (406-813-8484) during business hours (8am-4pm) or Christina (406-600-1478) outside of business hours to make pick up arrangements so we know to expect you Friday.

Our address is 200 Briar Place Unit 4 Belgrade, 59714. From Frontage Road in Belgrade turn right on Astor Ave. just after the Airport Valet + Storage sign. Take your first left onto Briar Place. We're the third warehouse on your left. You will see a sandwich board sign for Root Cellar Pickup near the road and mailboxes. We share a building with Extreme Plumbing so you'll see their sign on the building and a Root Cellar Foods logo on our front door. Once you've arrived, call 406-813-8484 and we will bring your order out to you.

We accept credit cards and eChecks as forms of payment.
When you register as a new customer you will be asked to enter credit card information to place an order. All order transactions are processed after your order has been packed on Thursday afternoons regardless of what day your order will be picked up or delivered.

Home deliveries in Livingston + the Gallatin Valley are $5 and they are $10 in Big Sky. The Livingston pickup fee is $3.

There is a 4% service fee applied to all orders (4% of your order total). This accounts for the cost of labor and compostable packaging that goes into packing orders every week.

As a new customer you’ll pay a risk-free one-time reusable bag fee of $5. If, after your first or second order you decide the Root Cellar Online Market isn't for you, you’ll get a full refund when your bags are returned.
PLEASE RETURN your bags each time you receive an order. Just leave them on your porch for our driver to collect or hand 'em over at your next pick up. It's that easy!
(Note: Reusable bags are sanitized between each use. We have a sanitation schedule in place using the same solution we clean our tables and equipment with on the bags that are returned each week. Health department approved! They are then air dried and used the following week).

When you place an order and hit confirm, you should immediately receive an email confirmation with your order details. Please review this to make sure your order is correct.
You can also verify your order has been placed by logging into your account, selecting “account activity” in the left column and clicking the drop down menu to select an order. If there isn’t a current order, please reach out for assistance!
You will also receive a reminder email from us the day your order is ready with details about your delivery/pickup.

You can cancel, add items to, or remove items from your order up until Monday morning at 11am. After that time, all orders are sent to our 70+ farmers and producers and it is too late to cancel or add to an order.
Due to the complex nature of sourcing local Montana products from 70+ different growers, ranchers and producers throughout the state, it is difficult to cancel customer orders after we have placed orders with our vendors at 11am each Monday, as items are already being harvested or packed and delivered soon after the market closes.
To cancel your order during the order window, just login to your customer account, go to your cart, scroll to the bottom and click the cancel button.

There are two ways to change your location:
Changing your default location: login to your account, click the little person in the top right corner of the page, click account information, change the default distribution location on the right. Make sure to click update account information to save your changes! If you already have an order in, changing your default location will not change the location on that order.
Changing location on your current order (during the order window only): login to your account, go to your cart, on the left hand side, update the location. If you want that to be your delivery/pickup location moving forward, it’s best to also update your default location so you don’t forget next time!
If the order window has closed and you need to change your delivery/pickup location for the current week, reach out and we’ll change it for you!

We exclusively sell grains, meat, dairy and value-added goods that are grown, raised and produced in Montana. As for our veggies...it’s a bit more complicated! In the height of the Montana growing season we source the majority of our produce from the Gallatin Valley. We have a limited availability of Kalispell Kreamery items each week because we pre-order dairy and need to estimate how much we will sell each week. If you'd like to guarantee you'll get the dairy items you’d like in your next order, please email pre-orders to sales@rootcellarfoods.com by 1pm Thursdays. We will pre-order these items and add them to your order once the shopping period closes each Monday. No need to add them to your shopping cart as they will be set aside for you.

Our processed veggies come in compostable containers or bags from Eco Montana. We partner with Happy Trash Can, a local composting service to commercially compost the containers and bags you receive your produce in each week. Leave your bags and containers that are labeled as certified compostable/PLA in your cooler or bring them to your pickup location to be collected when you receive your next order. We'll take care of the rest!
Root Cellar Foods is also a Drop-Off-Only Composting Site Host in Belgrade. Check out Happy Trash Can’s Pay-What-You-Can subscription and drop your home compost when you pick up your Root Cellar order each week! And get finished compost back too!
